Moon & Sun is the work of Swedish songwriter and visual artist Monica Tormell. Influenced by lonesome, gloomy atmospheres and Caribbean tunes her music sets out to explore sonic constellations from the primitive to the electronic and manipulated. Knife Slits Water re-released the sold out Moon & Sun debut EP ‘Apocalypso’ on tape for their winter 2010 tour. Go here for more information and to purchase one of the remaining copies.

Although already presented at the amazing Skull Defekts show in Amsterdam mid-september, the Optic Nest ‘Korriderna’ cassette is now officially out in the zone. You can order it in our webstore, or listen to a track right here.
Optic Nest is the mental brain child of Daniel ‘Fagge’ Fagerström – the man behind the amazing Swedish underground label Moptaco Dics and part of the great Skull Defekts, The Je Ne Sais Quoi and Chronic Heist. Already having released a hand full of tapes and vinyl on obscure labels such as Kassettbolaget Svart Pyramid and Hästen & Korset and the aforementioned Moptaco Dics, during the late summer of twentyten a mp3 stream crossed a number of European borders which Knife Slits Water released as the ‘Korriderna’ cassette.
Although visually dedicated to that magical zone called Swedish Summer, mentally the man is looking down to the lower regions of his counterpart, while the third corner of the triangle that is Korriderna is sequenced sound. The six songs on this cassette are humming, vintage synthesizer loops backed up with tucked away, droning, industrial drum rhythm. These layers are topped by panting, hissing and whispering vocals, old television samples and flanging, swirling melody. The analogue squeaks are as repetitive as those insane number stations from the cold war, and just as haunting – “Korriderna is everywhere and beyond”.
